Bioinformatics Software

A major activity in the Blaxter lab is the development and use of bioinformatics tools to analyse genome sequence data, particularly data relating to comparative, or phylo-, genomics. We have developed new bioinformatic tools for our comparative genomics research, and also use a number of public-domain tools.

Trichuris muris
The parasitic nematode Trichuris muris.
T. muris is a gut parasite of mice, and is used as a research model for the human-parasitic T. trichiura. See NEMBASE3 for analyses of ESTs from this parasite and many other nematodes.
