A tool for generating partial genomes
prot4EST
EST protein translation suite
Current version 3.0b released on 21 June 2010
DOWNLOAD from compsysbio.org
prot4EST is a suite of programs that takes expressed sequence tags (ESTs) and translates them optimally to produce putative peptides.
prot4EST intergrates a number of programs to overcome problems inherent with translating ESTs. prot4EST and all of the external
programs are freely available to academic researchers.
prot4EST was developed by James Wasmuth when he was a PhD student in the Blaxter lab. He is now in John Parkinson's group in Toronto, and the software is available from his website. We recommend you get the newest version - it is so much easier to use, and is much more fully featured.

Website Highlight
The dog parasitic nematode Toxocara canis.
T. canis is an ascarid nematode. Ascarids are gut and tissue parasites of a wide range of vertebrates, including humans. This species infects dogs (and is the main reason why puppies should be "wormed"). It is important medically as its larvae can infect humans and cause blindness. See NEMBASE4 for analyses of ESTs from this parasite and many other nematodes.
