W. bancrofti is focally distributed throughout the Nile delta regions of Egypt. . Culex pipiens mosquitoe is the main vectors of the nocturnally periodic forms of W. bancrofti. Reda Ramzy's group is currently involved in the Filarial Genome Project as well as some other projects (see details).
