The meeting was hosted by Prof. Reda Ramzy and his colleagues in the Research and Training Center on Vectors of Diseases.

This report was compiled by Barton Slatko and Mark Blaxter. The "proceedings" of the meeting are given first, followed by the discussions and decisions on future strategies for the co-ordinated Filarial Genome Project. The Opening Session featured talks summarising the project's success. The next section focused on reports of progress made in the genome initiative during the last year. We also heard of analyses of genes of interest from both genome project labs and others.
