The Endosymbiont Genome

in preparation

presumed endosymbiont ESTs

Endosymbiont sequence from the cosmid library End sequencing of clones from the cosmid library revealed that most have low AT content (~50%) and many have similarity to prokaryotic genes. Where a gene has been sequenced from a proteobacteria alpha species, these sequences appear closer to the proteobacteria alpha than to other bacteria (ie thsy look like rickketsial genes rather than E. coli ones). In comparison, end sequences from the BAC library have >70% AT.
