What is Wormwood?

The last few years have seen a rising interest in phylogenetic research on nematodes, especially based on molecular methods. Obviously, increased exchange of information between researchers and mutual awareness of each other's activities would make it easier to: avoid unnecessary duplication; request and pass on technical tips; request and voice opinions and comments; detect and implement possibilities for collaboration; access, combine and/or complete datasets; get funding (e.g. EU-funds require international collaboration).

Wormwood has been set up to stimulate this exchange with a minimal increase of work burden. It is both an automated mailing list or newsgroup, and an electronic "who's who"-cum-address book, aimed primarily (but not exclusively) at people working on phylogenetic investigations into nematodes, be it along morphological, developmental or molecular lines.

Everybody with an interest in nematode evolution is therefore invited to participate. There are no fees or conditions attached, anyone can join the email list and the Wormwood database is freely available on WWW or by request through e-mail. Nevertheless, joining will ensure that you get announcements of the regular updates of Wormwood via e-mail, and it will also increase your visibility as more of your peers become aware of your interests and research profile.

If you wish to join this initiative, please click here and fill in the form for the database and go here to join the email list.
