Nematode Vulva References

These references are to a number of papers, ranging from classical genetic analysis to molecular biological work which describe the development of the C. elegans vulva and its genetic control.

For a basic introduction to C. elegans see the book by W.B. Wood (1988) "The nematode C. elegans", Cold Spring Harbor Press, USA, and for the first description of the cellular development of the vulva see J. Sulston and H.R. Horvitz (1977) "Postembryonic cell lineage of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans" Develpmental Biology 56: 110-156.

A recent excellent review is Kornfeld, K. (1997). Vulval development in Caenorhabditis elegans. Trends in Genetics 13, 55-61.

see also Gilbert, S. F. (1994). C. elegans vulval development. In "Developmental Biology", pp. 679, 681-682. Sinauer Associates, Sunderland, MA.

The number of stars below indicates the relative importance of the reference....
